Lauren A. Khouri

Lauren A. Khouri is a Partner at Correia & Puth, PLLC, dedicating her practice to the civil rights of individuals in the workplace and in schools. She is the President of the Metropolitan Washington Employment Lawyers’ Association (MWELA), a D.C.-area voluntary bar association comprised of over 350 lawyers who regularly advise and represent employees in employment and civil rights disputes.

Ms. Khouri represents clients in all aspects of the firm’s litigation practice. Her work centers gender justice where she focuses on representing women and girls of color and LGBTQI+ people in cases involving sexual harassment and violence, pregnancy and family responsibilities discrimination, and student and employee rights under Title IX. She is a practiced litigator on behalf of employees who experienced age, disability, and sex discrimination.

In 2023, the National Employment Lawyers’ Association awarded Ms. Khouri its annual Spotlight Award, an honor bestowed on an attorney who represents leaders who are the future of the field. Best Lawyers has recognized Ms. Khouri as a leader in civil rights law since 2019. Ms. Khouri was also selected for recognition as a Rising Star in employment law every year since 2019.

Prior to Correia & Puth, Ms. Khouri was a fellow at the National Women’s Law Center, where she advocated for women’s economic security and equality in education and employment. She earned her law degree from American University Washington College of Law, where she received the American University Dean’s Award for Professional Responsibility and the Pro Bono Exceptional Service Honors Award.

She serves on the Board of Teaching for Change, a nonprofit that supports educators who advance social change through classroom instruction.

Ms. Khouri is admitted to practice law in New York, the District of Columbia, and numerous federal courts nationwide.
