On October 11, 2023, the D.C. Bar Litigation Community and the Federal Bar Association D.C. Chapter hosted “A Conversation with Chief Judge James E. Boasberg,” an informal Q&A with the new Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, before an audience of practitioners, court staff, and bar members. Correia & Puth’s Andrew Adelman helped to organize the event and gave opening remarks. Mr. Adelman is a member of the D.C. Bar Litigation Community Steering Committee.
Judge Boasberg began his judicial career in 2002, when he was appointed to the D.C Superior Court. In 2011, Judge Boasberg was appointed to the D.C. District Court, and he became its Chief Judge on March 17, 2023. The event was held at the E. Barrett Prettyman U.S. Courthouse. Judge Boasberg spoke about his background, goals for his term as Chief Judge, and practice preferences.
