For his work as co-counsel in that case, he was named Trial Lawyer of the Year by Trial Lawyers for Public Justice (now Public Justice).
In 2025, Jonathan was named Lawyer of the Year by the Metropolitan Washington Employment Lawyers Association (MWELA) for his effective advocacy advancing the law on behalf of employees. That same year, Best Lawyers in America honored him as Lawyer of the Year in Employment Law – Individuals. Jonathan has been recognized annually for years by Best Lawyers, Washingtonian Magazine, Super Lawyers, and holds an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell, reflecting the highest level of professional excellence and ethical standards. He frequently represents transgender and disabled individuals in cases involving discrimination in employment, healthcare, and public accommodations. His litigation, appellate work, and policy advocacy have helped shape emerging civil rights protections for working people.

“Workplace discrimination and mistreatment can upend a person’s livelihood and sense of dignity. We’re driven by the opportunity to help our clients regain control, assert their rights, and pursue justice to the fullest extent of the law.”
